Coming from both coasts

Cincinnati is getting a double-dose of lesbian entertainment when singer-songwriter Zoë Lewis from Provincetown and comedian Amy Boyd from San Francisco take the stage on September 23.

Lewis is like a vaudevillian “one-man band" act with a women's music sensibility, traversing a world of genres while playing a multitude of instruments.

Boyd, continuing the manic energy, has been described as the "k.d. lang of women's comedy" and has a skill with physical comedy that draws frequent comparisons to Jim Carrey in his heyday.

The show will drag both the right and left coasts squarely into the middle as Massachusetts and California converge in Ohio, giving fans here a taste of what the world has to offer. Lewis will be performing on September 22 at Club 202 in Columbus, 202 North Fifth Street, at 9 pm. Cover is $10. For more information, log onto www.202livemusic.com or call 614221-9379.

The September 23 show with both performers is presented by Women Out Front at the 20th Century Theater, 3021 Madison Rd. in Cincinnati. The show is at 8 pm, and tickets are $28 in advance, available at the Yadda Club or through www.womenout front.com, or $33 the day of the show. For tickets or more information, e-mail womenoutfront@fuse.net or call 513600-2846.
